Ankita Kashyap




  Ankita is a multidisciplinary artist. She works across sculpture, installation, collages and video to re-imagine the rose as a site of feminist resistance and renewal. In popular visual culture, roses and the painted image of women have been synonymous with beauty. She reclaims this association by transmuting rose stems as writing instruments lending it agency to how it is popularly imagined, to inscribe shared stories of objectification, love and revolution. By chiselling the dried rose stems at a sharp angle and fashion it as a pen, she plants a metaphorical sapling of rose. She utilises rose stems as the perfect tool to write stories, letters and experiences of love.
